Ceratotherium
Ceratotherium est un genre monotypique appartenant à la famille des rhinocéros. L'unique représentant de ce genre est le rhinocéros blanc (Ceratotherium simum) que l'on trouve sur le continent africain. Ce genre fut décrit par le zoologiste John Edward Gray en 1868. Le nom Ceratotherium dérive du grec keras qui signifie "corne" et therion qui veut dire "bête".
