Kerodon


Kerodon est un genre de rongeurs dans la famille des Caviidae. Traditionnellement considéré comme un membre de la sous-famille Caviinae tel que le cochon d'Inde et autres cobayes, des recherches moléculaires ont démontré que ce genre est bien plus étroitement lié au capybara. Kerodon fut décrit pour la première fois en 1825 par le zoologiste français Frédéric Cuvier.
